I've been making furniture to furnish my own house for over 20 years. It all started with a simple problem - I couldn't afford to buy the kind of furniture I wanted. I've built beds, desks, stereo racks, lamps, tables, bookshelves and more. I loved all of the classic mid-century pieces by Isamu Noguchi, George Nakashima, Eames etc. - but the authentic pieces were both out of my price range and hard to get. Along the way, I also started to find that some of the midcentury classics didn't quite fit my lifestyle or living space. So, I started to build my own versions of those classic designs. Here are a few selected highlights from my projects over the years.

I have worked in various mediums including oils, acrylic, and watercolor. I studied for a year or so with Noel Robbins, and I am forever grateful for his insight and honesty. I am inspired to create art for specific rooms/places and to capture certain moments. Here are a few selected pieces from my work as a painter.

I have created numerous corporate promotional videos, music videos, and art films. For my two short films (Helix and L'ossessione di Andrea (Andrea's Obsession)), I also wrote and recorded an original score. I specifically wrote and mixed the soundtrack for Helix in 5.1 surround sound.

From about the time I was 15 years old, my singular obsession was to record music to the highest possible standard. Its fair to say my choice of career and education was formulated to allow me to buy the maximum amount of recording gear. I spent the 90’s in Austin recording and performing with my band, The Morrows. We made two records and played live on 6th street, the Saxon Pub, Stubbs and more. I eventually create my own recording studio which I dubbed “The Means of Production” studio. There, I recorded many Austin band including Matson Belle, Omar Lopez, The Innocent, and Ear to Anon. I still enjoy playing guitar and piano and regularly release little performances on social media. Below is a sample of some of the recording work I have done.

I worked professionally in enterprises software as a developer, architect, consultant, designer, and product executive for over 25 years. I started my career in Oracle technologies using relational databases, Oracle Applications, and Oracle OLAP. From there, I was part of the founder team for KPI Consulting/developerprogam.com (now Constellant) where we built a hybrid SAAS/consultancy company that served some of the world’s largest companies.

At Box.com, I served for several years as a principal Solutions Architect helping companies like Uber, Ameriprise, LegalZoom, Walmart and more design and build custom applications on the Box platform using our APIs. I am currently the senior Product Strategist for Box.com where I work with our customers and cross-functional stakeholders to help drive our Content Cloud product strategy.

photography title page.jpg

I’ve been an avid photographer for 25 years. I started on film cameras, both 35mm and medium format, and have since owned a succession of digital cameras. I have traveled extensively over the years, and I have always tried to document the places I’ve been. After a particularly intense period of travel (mostly to Europe), I self published a book of my favorite photos which I’ve linked to below.

I’ve also always been interested in photographing people and have shot musicians, models, family members, corporate portraits, headshots and more. Finally, I worked as a photographer for a local Austin pet-focused magazine shooting features, fashion, and pets.

interiors title page.jpg

I am an avid interior designer who really works to find the right optimization between the purpose of the room and an artistic sensibility. I am especially picky about lighting - I like purposeful light that illuminates the space without overwhelming it and light that highlights specific objects.

I am an avid home chef, and I often find myself cooking for large family groups. I especially enjoy cooking outdoors using a combination of grills and smokers. I also have come to appreciate cooking with wood over open flame using a traditional Argentine Brasero Grill.
